COCC Barber Library Resources

To ensure you’re citing academic, scholarly and free (!) resources, start your research using Barber Library resources!

Where can you find all these amazing resources? Start at the Barber Library website:

Unlike Google, where you have one search bar to find everything Google has to offer, you have to go to different places to find different things. It can be helpful as it will immediately give you more precise results, but it also can be overwhelming if you don’t know where to begin! Here’s a quick guide to get you started:

For your WR227 assignment, click on the Resources by Subject icon to see databases picked by librarians specifically for a subject that appeals to you!

Need help finding a topic? Check out the News and Current Events page, CQ Researcher or Opposing Viewpoints in Context.

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Fear not! We can request an item through our Interlibrary Loan Services (ILL). We can request something from libraries all over the world (may take 3-12 days) or from a group of libraries we belong to in the Pacific Northwest called Summit. Summit gives you access to the collections at 37 Pacific Northwest institutions, including University of Oregon and University of Washington, just like if COCC owned it. Books take 3-5 days to be delivered and articles can be emailed in just a few hours! Create an ILL account today using your COCC network username and password!
