Unlike Google, where you have one search bar to find everything Google has to offer, the Barber Library’s website asks you to go to different places to find different things. It can be helpful as it will immediately give you more precise results, but it also can be overwhelming if you don’t know where to begin! Don’t forget, if you see an article you want, but the library doesn’t have access to it, you can still request it through the library’s Interlibrary Loan Services (ILL)! In the real world, you can’t ignore information just because it isn’t immediately available–take advantage of this service that gives you access to millions of items! Create an ILL account today using your COCC network username and password!

Also, even if you’re not on campus, you still have access to the knowledge of COCC’s librarians 24/7 through our Reference Services! You can email or phone us when we’re open, or speak with a live librarian regardless of the hour using our chat service. We can assist you in coming up with a research topic, fine tuning your keywords, crafting those pesky citations, etc.
